Sidewalk Chalk Onomatopoeia : Students can cover their sidewalks and driveways with examples of onomatopoeia that look like comic book expressions. 2. Summertime Figurative Language : Students will create summer themed sentences using each form of figurative language. 3. Movie Summaries: Students will write a summary of their most recently watched movie on Netflix or Hulu using the "Somebody Wanted But So Then" and/or "12 words or less" strategies. 4. Indoor scavenger hunt and writing prompt: Students will find the objects listed in their own homes, then TSW create a short story to include each item they were able to find. 5. Interview Your Favorite Character: Students will create 6 questions as if they were interviewing the character for a newspaper article. They are now looking for the bright, talented students with a passion for the arts to apply to their program.
